Went to see Grindhouse with Benjamin last night. You really need to see this movie late at night in a packed theater full of drunken vagabonds. It's one of those movies that gives relevance to the theater experience - most movies I'd almost rather watch at home on my HD set, avoiding the sticky floors and 11 dollar tickets. But the sheer collective joy during every splattery special effect and car crash in Grindhouse made taking a hike to Times Square well worth it.
For those that have seen it, I managed to dig up the groovy tune played during the coming attractions bumpers. It's a track by Tony Newman called "Soul Thing." It also happens to be sampled prominently in the Dangerdoom song "Old School."
