Today Bolt Media (my former employer) closed down Bolt2, a site that's been around for just about a decade. Bolt2 used to be known as Bolt until last Spring, when bolt.com was rebuilt from the ground up to compete with YouTube and Flickr. The "classic" Bolt was moved off into the refugee camp that was Bolt2. Yes, it's confusing. And it was even more confusing to the many many vocal members of the old site. Members that made sure they let Bolt's CEO know exactly how they felt about where the company was going. They dubbed the new site "Pornfolio," thanks to the proliferation of teenage camerawhores who flooded the revamped Bolt shortly after its opening. I think deenis summed up this week's decision pretty well.
